Tiro Rapido 2009 - Pesaro

Today, July 6th, in San Giovanni Library, Pesaro, it’s taking place the fourth set of Tiro Rapido 2009 before summer break. You can challenge yourself on the beach with the clues provided to competitors and chill out with a glass of our fresh Ribolla Gialla TY.


The yellow catamaran

On June 10th, 1988, the catamaran Arx belongings to Annarita Curina leaves Pesaro port leading to Balearic Islands. On board, there are also Filippo De Cristofaro and his seventeen-years-old girlfriend. After two hours begins the couple evil plan designed to take possession of the boat: the girl wounds Annarita with a knife, then the man butcher her with a machete then they throw the dead body into the sea, weighting it with an anchor. The corpse, floating, ends up in a fisherman boat net immediately police start the chase. Renamed Fly 2, the Catamaran was found on July 19th on a Tunisian port, two days after the killers are caught. The girl is condemned to six and a half years' imprisonment while De Cristofaro is sentenced to life imprisonment. On July 2007 "the Rambo of the Seas" takes advantage of a permit and fled away. Caught in Utrecht, Holland, the next month.


The "Bebawi Case"

Monday, 20th January 1964 in a Tricotex company’s office a secretary discovers the owner Faruk Chourbagi death. He was shoot two days earlier and then rubbed with the vitriol. Lebanese citizen, but Egyptian-born Chourbagi is a brilliant business man aged 27, with a playboy reputation. The suspects are one of his mistress, Gabrielle "Claire" Bebawi, and her husband, Youssef. The Egyptians couple was seen together near his office on January 18th. They were arrested in Athens, while trying to escape to Egypt. Defended by two of the best lawyers of the time, Giovanni Leone (Claire) and Giuliano Vassalli (Youssef), during the trial, the couple accusing each other. Thanks to this defensive strategy, after 142 hearings, they were acquitted for lack of evidence in 1966. The judges, while convinced of the guiltiness, say they have no evidence to determine who of them was the murderer. Ruling overturned on 1968 plea: 22 years' imprisonment for both but, in the meantime, the accused fled.
