Monday, June 8th :: Tiro Rapido 2009 - Mantua
Mantua, in my memory, appears frosty under blankets of wintery fog, but today, 8th June, it’s a red silhouette under the clear light of a summery day. The third challenge of Tiro Rapido is hosted by Teatro Sociale, artistic town’s heart.
Two plots are delineate by Daniele Protti, publishing director of "Europeo" magazine, inspiring points for the contenders.
The first one is the family mass murder perpetrated by the annihilator Pietro Maso in 1991. Dictated by brutality and boredom, amplified by the unpleasantness of Italian province, a slaughter, the massacre of his parents, conceived to speed the way to a quirky life of luxury. Power interlaced with sex is the plot of the second story. A convent and the obscure case which see nuns implicated with the residents of the surroundings in murky cases of sexual intercourses, dated 1571. Culminating in the hanging of scapegoats but leaving free the most influential persons involved. An episode that has influenced Manzoni in drawing the episode "Monaca di Monza" in the "I promessi sposi" book.
