Treviso noir

The "Sala dei Trecento" (Three hundred room) is located in the hearth of Treviso, its walls covered by frescoes celebrating town’s power and the wealthiest. The town has proudly welcoming the first challenge of Tiro Rapido 2009’s edition.

When Daniele Protti, head of the jury, give details about the synopsis, which will need to be follow, I feel the tension growing and the ideas sparkling around the room.

The crime story the "wannabe" writers need to rephrase begins from three different set, two of them regarding never solved murders in recent Italian history, the so called "Via Poma" and "Olgiata" murders. Different hypothesis and clues was followed by the police: revenge, international espionage... but still the crimes have no solution. The other theme is bound to Treviso and the end of second world war. On the day of Holy Friday 1944, 7th April, the city was heavily bombed and 4000 civilians died. This holocaust was inexplicable.

Challenge yourself writing a novel inspired by these intrigues and maybe you can enroll in the next writing competition which will be in Como, on the lake shore, on May 11th . And while you wait, speed your ideas with a glass of our Ribolla Gialla TY!
