Collio,
the land
of great wine

Cuei, Brda, in den ecken... names belonging to a precious territory, which was the borderline between two different worlds and now has become the heart of Europe.
A piece of land, laying among snowy crests and looking at the Adriatic Sea, which has always been celebrated for vine-growing.
Since the 16th century, many kings, emperors and tsars have appreciated the wines of this region. Today, through indigenous varietals such as Ribolla Gialla, Friulano and Refosco, Collio and its people’s echo spread around the world.
Ribolla Gialla’s growing on the hills of Oslavia dates back to 1300: here it found its ideal and almost sole habitat.
These are hills endowed with a unique microclimate, where strong winter winds such as Bora, along with gentle summer breezes, spring rains and sunny days, live together, creating a proper climate for vines and bunchs of grape.
