Azienda Primosic is
blooming with news. The historical name of this wine producer, that
has been living and working in the heart of the Collio region for
generations, is being renovated to mark a new awareness of the value
of the territory. The expansion of the European Union in 2004 with
the addition of ten more countries, Slovenia being one of them, has
brought new vital lymph to a territory, full of history and an
important past, that is now open to the challenges of the future.
Azienda Primosic is
expanding its field of action from its land of origin. The passion
for a long and sound history of the business is strengthening and is
expressed by its opening towards the production of VQPRD Brda and
Vipava in Slovenia; areas that represent the natural continuity of
the territory that has been the cradle of Azienda Primosic since
time immemorial.
In view of the
renovation, Azienda Primosic, which has now become a cross-border
business, also adds new names to its list: Palmadina – the cadastral
name of the farmland of Villanova di Farra in the Isonzo DOC area –
and the new selection of vineyards in the Collio area, where each
hill has been carefully “zoned” and the vine now bears the cadastral
name of the vineyard.
The target set by
Azienda Primosic is fully focused on the consumer who is offered the
best expression of each individual vineyard, enhancing the
professionalism and experience that derive from a long tradition
belonging to Primosic in a territory that has no equal in terms of
vocation.
The result is widely
spread. From the Slovenian territory two great indigenous whites
make their debut, such as Rebula or Ribolla Gialla from the Brda
VQPRD zone and Vitovska from the Vipava VQPRD zone.
Palmadina presents
Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc, two white wines with excellent
freshness, and Refosco, an indigenous vine offered either as a pure
Refosco wine or as a rich blend with Merlot.
Primosic also presents
Collio del Murno in the following varieties Pinot Grigio, Merlot or
Murno Bianco, confirming once again Gmajne Sauvignon Blanc and
Chardonnay that are of an accurate traditional selection. Alongside
these great wines is also Belvedere Tocai Friulano, produced in the
vineyard at the foot of the Calvario.
The Primosic winery also reveals a
few of its most personal interpretations of perceiving wine: these
have the prestigious names of Klin, Metamorfosis and Ribolla di
Oslavia, the fine quality reserves that mark an original inflection
in the approach to Primosic brand wines.
