Collio, the land of great wine “Collio” means hill, and the name is attributed to an area with a landscape of considerable interest, extending across the hills and high ground marked by a series of orderly rows of vines. Collio is the name that has always referred to excellent wines produced on the hills surrounding the town of Gorizia, from north to south along the Italian and Slovenian border.
